Gods of Uis-Valla

Gods of Uis-Valla Fantasy Series

One might say a total leap into the abyss, moving from historical fiction, a time where everything is pinned to a period, to moving to where there is often no reference point to reality.  But even in speculative fiction, things must make sense within its environment, whatever that might be.

This post is an introduction to the Gods of Uis-Valla series, that developed out of a very small idea. Originally it was a short story and probably had not meant to be fantasy related, however through the experience of the character Jonas, he lives a fantastical brief moment in an out of world adventure, before returning to the normality of his own existence, which breathed life into something more.

When the original story concept was created, it was simply known as "Guardian". This idea was developed further between 2014 and 2016. Between 2018 and 2019, a screenplay, consisting of 16 short episodes for part of the story was written and displayed on the Ben Kesp website, to receive feedback from readers and it was positive.

The naming of "Uis-Valla" came about from name variations of different ancient Irish sites associated with Irish mythology. At first names like "Uishara", "Ushalla, "Uis-Grohan" were all in consideration to be used for the city realm. However, in 2019, the "Gods of Uis-Valla" was created as the overall series title, with "Guardian: Rise of the Gods" becoming the title for the first book.

The story setting is set around the Zalaize Cluster, that was formed out of star dust, in a time unknown. Within this new creation sprung forth five galaxies or circles of creation. Little is revealed yet on the other spheres of existence, for the focus sits with the third circle or Kuboran Galaxy, home to ten realms and associated stars. The realms of the Kuboran Galaxy are known by the names of; Kingdom of Vellig, Kingdom of Malaar, Soulamir Realm, K-73 Realm, Auskan World, Noige, Odonar, Solaris, Bladel Petas, and Oise.

Each of these realms are connected to an interstellar state or city realm, known as Uis-Valla that lies at the very centre of the Kuboran Galaxy. Within this state exist the Korninti, its people, who have served as gatekeepers and monitors of all realms since the birth of the galaxy itself. Uis-Valla controls the Cosmic Pathway, an unseen corridor that connects all realms, and to its people, is given the responsibility and duty of maintaining harmony among the realms.

The first book in the high fantasy series will see an introduction - a foundation setting to the Kuboran Galaxy, Uis-Valla and its people, the Korninti. It will also introduce the Armonte, of the Kingdom of Vellig and the Zarin Fairies of the Soulamir Realm. The plot will set about disturbing the Korninti belief system and bring chaos to order, causing an interstellar collapse between the realms.

There is a dedicated page on the Ben Kesp Website where information can be found on the books, characters, realms and species which is updated regularly. More posts will follow, providing further information on the Korninti, Armonte and central characters.
